Intro:
The ultimate tea time and Ramadan savory treat in our household. These beef puff pastries are always a hit. The Shan masala seasonings can be found in your local Pakistani/Indian stores or if you're in the greater Houston area, most of the local HEB or Kroger in the suburbs carry them as well. If you can't find the seasoning you can substitute with 1/4 tsp. garam masala, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp. paprika, 1/4 tsp. turmeric, 1/2 tsp. cumin and 1/4 tsp. onion powder. Hope you enjoy these pastries as much as we do!
Ingredients:
- 1/4 lb Ground Beef
- 1 & 1/2 Tbsp. Shan Seikh Kabob Masala (found in local Pakistani/Asian store)
- 1/4 Diced Onion
- 1 Tsp. Garlic Paste
- 1/2 Cup Chopped Cilantro
- 1/4 Cup Oil
- Cooking Spray
- 1 Package Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry Sheets (fully defrosted)
1.) Mix ground beef, onion, garlic paste, seasoning and cilantro in a bowl.
2.) Heat a skillet on medium heat and add cooking oil. Cook beef mixture for around 20 minutes until beef is thoroughly cooked and liquid is completely evaporated. Let cool for 10 minutes.
3.) Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
4.) Take puff pastry sheets and cut each one into 9 equal size squares.
5.) Use a teaspoon and scoop your beef filling onto center of your squares.
6.) Fold over your squares to create a triangle and press edges together. Next use a fork to press down and seal edges.
7.) Line baking sheet with foil and spray with cooking oil. Place puff pastry triangles onto cooking sheet and spray lightly with cooking oil.
8.) Place in oven for 18 minutes.
9.) Allow to cool for 5 minutes and enjoy!
